Admissions Process & Policies

Zion Christian University admits single or married male and female students without respect to age, race, color, national or ethnic origin. However, applicants must profess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior in order to be admitted into Zion Christian University. The University was founded to educate the Body of Christ and therefore retains the right to deny admission to any applicant that does not show evidence, to the satisfaction of the University, of a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

First Time Student Admission Requirements

To begin your journey in applying to Zion Christian University, please complete the following steps:

  1. Start the Online Application Process
  2. Have your pastor or a member of the clergy fill out a Clergy Recommendation form – see our Forms Page
  3. Send in an official copy of your high school and college transcripts (if applicable)

Other degree requirements:

Bachelor of Theology Degree Program: Individuals must have completed 30 General Education Credits from an acceptable school. An official transcript must be provided to the ZCU Admissions Department.

Bachelor of Arts in Theology Degree Program: Individuals must have completed 60 General Education credits from an acceptable school. An official transcript must be provided to the ZCU Admissions Department.

Master of Theological Studies/Master of Divinity: Individuals must have graduated with a four-year bachelor’s degree from an acceptable post-secondary institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75, based on a 4.00 scale. Individuals must have completed 30 General Education Credits from an acceptable school.

Home-Schooled Students

If you graduated from a home-schooled or non-traditional school setting, complete the Home School Credit Evaluation form along with a letter describing the educational background and skills of the applicant. See our Forms Page

Transfer Students

Students transferring to Zion Christian University from another school must provide official academic transcripts for evaluation. Because Zion Christian University deems its courses essential for graduation, a minimum of 30 credits must be completed at Zion Christian University to be granted a degree. Transfer Credit is only considered for courses that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum grade of C or a 2.00 on a 4.00 grading scale
  • Taken in an acceptable school
  • Applicable to Zion Christian University’s programs

The Registrar carefully reviews all cases and retains the right to not accept any credits that do not meet the specific requirements.
